“Charlie has a lovely, easy manner. Keeping things simple, he provides a fascinating and logical image to pursue using his "Bubble Analysis" to structure it in our minds. As a coach as well as a rider I found it absorbingly interesting.”

Think a Little, Change a Lot
2012 Easter Workshop for Competitive Riders

Charlie Unwin is once again delighted to be running his 2012 equestrian psychology workshops. “Think a Little, Change a Lot” is a practical and engaging 1-day workshop that provides the opportunity for competitive riders of all levels to kick start their 2012 season. Charlie brings with him extensive knowledge and experience that has led him to work with riders from Novice to Olympic level, including riders preparing for this year’s Olympics in London.

“For me, performance psychology is about helping riders perform consistently in competition as they do in training – with freedom to do what they know they are capable of. This typically requires strategies that enable us to build self-belief, create and execute a clear game plan and think clearly under pressure.”

This year’s workshop is packed with new and updated material taken from the latest research and thinking in performance psychology, and applied by Charlie in a logical and practical way for equestrian competitors. Material new for 2012 will include:

  • A pre-course diagnostic to help you identify key strengths and weaknesses
  • A personalised action plan for the year ahead

The 4 Habits of Highly Effective Riders
1.5 hour Presentation for Competitive Riders

In this thought-provoking presentation Charlie Unwin reflects upon the last year of working with equestrians from all disciplines and levels. In doing so Charlie shares 4 specific habits true of any rider performing consistently at their best and suggests how we might be able to adopt the same mental approaches to maximise our own competition performance in 2012.
These habits have profound implications for training & competition, building self-belief, setting goals, performing under pressure and most importantly enjoying our sport!

“Charlie is a highly engaging and inspiring speaker who demonstrates psychology in a colourful way that relates to riders of every level and age. A ‘must see’ for the winter!”
Alex Peternell, 4* Eventer

“Since working with Charlie I now recognise how many factors influence our mental state as riders. This has changed my approach to competition and taking control of my own performance, not just the horse’s, has played a big part in improving my results.”
Sharon Hunt, Olympic Bronze Medallist

"Thank you Charlie! I really enjoyed your presentation and your ideas have been a revelation.”
 Claire Kincaid, Dressage
