His work is supported by award winning research into 'Motivational Climate' as well as extensive knowledge and experience in the fields of leadership , mental toughness and talent development.

As a former international athlete and army officer, Charlie was forced to conduct much of his training in hostile post-war Iraq. Despite competing for Great Britain at the World Championships, Charlie confesses to have lacked raw talent as an athlete, but attributes much of his success to developing the ability to perform consistently under pressure and maintaining self-belief.
